Easter

Easter is hoppin’ in this year and is making its grand appearance this Sunday, so get out those little plastic eggs and get ready for a day full of fun and excitement!

This year, Easter will be on Sunday 4/20. Easter  is a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion.

The Easter begins to appear in the mid-2nd century and continues to current dates.

The most common symbol of the Christian holiday, the Easter bunny was introduced to America by the German immigrants who brought over their stories of an egg-laying hare in about 1682.

Easter eggs are also known as Paschal eggs. The tradition of dying them started in over 60,000 years ago in ancient africa where they would engrave Ostrich eggs.

The tradition of the Easter egg hunt dates back to at least the 17th century.

Today, the tradition continues. In addition to dying real eggs we fill plastic ones with candy and hide them for a super fun Easter egg hunt.

Now, hopefully, you know a little about all that went into that little plastic egg and how it came to be.
